The Columbia Chess Club is an affiliate of the USCF and meets each Thursday evening in Room 125 at Ashland United Methodist Church on Ashland Road between Bush River Road and St. Andrews Road. One round of a five round perpetual tournament begins at 7:30 each week. Players can arrive as early as 7:00. This is a rated tournament and you must be a member of the USCF to participate. Details for this tournament can be found on the "Tournaments" link. There is limited space for casual play and socializing for those that do not wish to play in the tournament. |

9/1 – Ashland V Team Tournament starts this week! Pairings are posted on the Discussion Board . Round 1 will start at 7:30 sharp! Team Turk is the highest rated team at 1508 followed by the RiPPers (1477), the Mighty Chickens (1444), Bad Bishops (1430), Team Four (1364) and Between a Rook & a Hard Place (1295). Top players on each board are Keith Eubanks (2060) on Board 1, Wes Scott (1469) on Board 2 and Lendel Robinson (1420) on Board 3.Trophies will be awarded to each player on the Top Team and to the player with the highest score on each board. Cast your vote for who you think will come out on top! There will be an Open Section side tournament for players not on teams if you would like to play a rated game. There will be a $1 a round entry fee for this tournament, no prizes. Registration will end at 7:20 and clocks will start at 7:30. No exceptions. |
